AVG Internet Security 2014
Getting AVG Internet Security 2014 installed on malware-infested systems was a challenge, but it did a good job in the end. A smart firewall, accurate spam filtering, and useful encryption system make up for less-than-stellar protection against phishing frauds.

Apple's iPhone 5s Touch ID Gets Hacked, But It's Still Awesome
Apple's iPhone 5S came out last week, with a new Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the Home button. Shortly thereafter, Nick DePetrillo (@NickDe) tweeted this challenge: "I will pay the first person who successfully lifts a print off the iPhone 5s screen, reproduces it and unlocks the phone in < 5 tries $100." How To Bypass The Lock Screen in iOS 7
One of the cooler things about Apple's iOS 7 is the new Control Center. Norton, Kaspersky, and Bitdefender Rule New Antivirus Test
Researchers at German lab AV-Test keep twenty-odd antivirus products under observation constantly, collating and reporting their results every couple months. They cycle between testing under Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8, sometimes using 64-bit editions. The latest results relate to testing under 64-bit Windows 7. Some products scored much better than when tested under the 32-bit operating system; others lost points galore.
